Michael....
Was born on the 10th of August 1952.
I only met him a few times and it was a great tragedy that Mick died so young and In such a short
space of time, 17 and a half weeks from start to finish in finding out about the cancer.I do know
that his passing leaves a great emptiness that cannot be filled.Sadly, I never got to know him very
well but from what i have learned about him he was an immense character, the sort of person about
whom stories should no doubt will be witten. There were so many different sides to the man that it
is difficult to know where to start!
This is the bare bones of Micks life story.....
Mick was born in Rookwood and went to Shakespeare Infants and Toynbee Secondary Schools which he
left at the young age of 14 and headed straight for the bright lights of London to find fame and
fortune. Unfortunately, it was anythink but, and proved a really tough time for the young lad.
He returned home and immediately got a job on the Railways working on the tracks. From there he went
onto work in Pirelli's until it closed down and afterwards to Ocular Sciences where he worked in the
manufacturing department until it to closed.
He then returned to the Railway's working as Station Master which his family felt was an unlikely
job for Mick given that he apperently was the sort of person who didn't suffer fool's gladly, so it
must have been an interesting experience all round.
From here he went to Ford's for five years or so until he was made redundant.
However, this is only a part of the whole story as i'm told Mick being the sort of man that he was
had a great spirit of adventure and ofton went travelling in between jobs sometimes giving his
family as much as 20 minutes notice to pack before shipping everyone over to France or wherever he
had in mind.
Mick was very much a spontaneous man who did nothing by halves and with him life was far from being
dull.
He was a free spirit in every sense of the word.
Along the way , he taught himself Taxidermy and was not some amateur who made do, he was a master
craftsman whose services were always in great demand because people really appreciated his work.
Mick had an enormous heart beating inside that body because as a kid, he filled a gap in his family
when his dad died, helping to look after his brothers Lesley & Robin sometimes taking on 2 or 3 jobs
to help bring in enough to keep them going.
He was a man who was full of life, a great judge of character who knew immediately whether he liked
someone or not, and if he didn't like you then in short you had had it !.
Onto his life on the rivers, he once said the Rivers Authority had there job to do and that he Mick,
made sure that he had his job to do. The river was to be Mick's final resting place it was the place
he used to love.
He was an immensely intelligent and creative man, and has been described as a real diamond in the
rough, a man who was and is missed. Life will be duller without him.
Please remeber his family in your prayers
Partner: Deana his one and only true love: ,Mum: Phyllis ,Brothers: Lesley & Robin,,
Daughters: Emma, Kelly, Jamie, and the grandchildren: Shannon:, Lauren, Ben, Daniel, Kobi & baby in
waiting ( The bump)
On a finishing note Mick used to sing to his daughters when they were young his favorite being *
Moon Shadow*
Mick only ever had one true love in his life!
*Deana*
Deana has since told me all Mick wanted to do was to marry her, he had asked her so many times,But
sadly was unable to do so... This come from the roots of his heart *Denna* was his one and only true
love, he so wanted to say i do with her and mean it, Sadly he was not able to forfill his wish as he
was still married and his ex would not let him go.He had been asking for over 17 years to be set
free from that loveless marrage. At least in death Mick did get his final wish. Enougth said on that
matter !!
May you rest in peace and rise in glory. Amen
Mick

Love Lives On
Those we love remain with us
for love itself lives on,
and cherished memories never fade
because a loved one's gone.
Those we love can never be
more than a thought apart,
for as long as there is memory,
they'll live on in the heart.
